This gluten free bananas foster isn’t your average oatmeal! Made with gluten free oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and bananas, it is a little bit of heaven for breakfast. Top with your favorite non-dairy milk and enjoy!
4 c. water
2c. gluten-free oats (old-fashioned)
pinch of salt
Bring water to a boil. Stir in oats and salt. Reduce heat and cook 10-20 minutes.
Bananas Foster Topping
2 tsp. oil (I used corn)
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. non-dairy milk (I used vanilla almond milk)
2 medium bananas
sprinkle of cinnamon
In a 10 inch frying pan over medium heat add oil and brown sugar. Stir together until it starts to melt, stir in dairy-free milk. Cook until it starts to bubble. Slice the bananas and add to pan. Stir gently to cover all of the slices. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon. Cook until it gets slightly thick. Remove from heat.
Put cooked oatmeal in individual bowls and then top with the cooked bananas. Add your favorite non-dairy milk and enjoy.
